Short Version:

Awesome weather.

Cleaned Jeep.

Cleaned Upholstery.

Waxed Jeep.

AIO'd Jeep's Wheels.

Got order in today.

WW MF's are amazing

Sonus der wunder Wasche works well.

Turned a fellow car nut onto Autopia :D

Long, more detailedversion.

I woke up and had intended to do a customer car this morning. Apparently there had been a change of plans for the day and the job was pushed back to tomorrow. That gives me time to do my own car, and have an excuse to sit outside all day to watch for the FedEx truck ;)

I QD'd the Jeep because I washed it yesterday, and finished with my wheels because it started raining after I finished washing. I noticed how there were dark, dirty spots on my upholstery (head rest, butt rest, and bolsters especially). I busted out the woolite and got to work. Came out ok, but I wish I had a grand to pick up an extractor :) .

I decided I was bored, and my order hadn;t shown up yet. I guess I'll stay outside a bit longer. Dressed tires, removed bugs, cleaned glass, changed air freshener, and rotated Wash mits (old wheel mit to wheel well, paint mit to wheels, and new mit to paint). Added a nice smooth (as always) layer of S100, and sealed my wheels.(Beading on the paint is amazing with the AIOx2/S100x2-3).

My order came in just as it started to get dimmer out. I grabbed the box from Mr. FedEx, took out my keys and ripped open the box, right there in the drive way. Went inside, and opened my new WW MF's in a slightly more civilzed manner. I HAD to try this! Went outside, sprayed down the hood, and I'm automatically hooked! These things are absolutely incredible.

During the day my neighbor and I exchanged a few "Looks good!"/"Thanks, you too!". comments while we watched eachother do our own cars. He asked me what kind of wax I used. Kick hiney, I get to get someone hooked! I brought him my jar of S100 to see. He said it sounded like a good wax, and to holler at him tomorrow to show him how it worked. As I finished the wheels, I brought a WW to him to show him what it was. I told him "go ahead and spray your hood, and I'll show you how it works". He didn't wanna get his freshly waxed/dried hood wet very understandable), so I offered my Jeep. His reaction was "Oh Sh*%!" I brought him into the garage to show him what I had, and he asked if he could try out the S100 on his dark red 1999 Denali, because his Meg's Gold Class was streaking. No problem. Sent him on his way with the wax and a good, soft MF. He liked the wax. I told him about autopia. He said he'd check it out. I figured I'd show him everything I got today. I had to show someone, I'm still siked about my order. I left the order sheet with him, and he gave it to his wife. He'll soon be the proud owner of a bottle of Sonus dew Wunder Wasche, Purple Passion Drying towel set, and a few MF buffing towels. He might check out the site tonight.

BTW, I promised his wife i wouldn't show him the PC. ;)

This wil be a great weekend, because the work I do tomorrow, I get paid for :D

Waffle Weave Micro Fiber.

It's like a Waffle Weave shirt, but in micro fiber material, and used for drying cars, not wearing ;)

Okay, I knew that. I just never heard of it by the abbreviation....good to know! I'm actually going to purchase some Cobra Waffle Weave from autogeek.net soon!

Carl

Carl, idk how much they want for the WW from autogeek, but ExcelDetail has great WWs for ~$11, and you can order a bunch of MFs too to save on shipping.

Patrick will refund any extra shipping costs for you too. :xyxthumbs

The sickness apparently is contagious. I'm just hoping it won't rain today so I can AIO my Jet Black BMW and apply a coat of Souveran. I may even clay it. And this car looks like it is coming off the showroom floor already. Why am I doint this? Remember to tell your friend that THERE IS NO CURE!

Like BillD says!

I actually told him, if he's not obsessed and willing to spend his every dollar on new tools, dont come

Had an excellent day here in southern Va. Temp around 80*. I detailed the Escalade's areas that I have been meaning to do for the last 2 raining weeks. Removed all headlite, turn signal, and brake pods and cleaned and polished. I polished the exhaust tip back to new appearance. It was in rough sharp but Never-Dull, Clearkote Metal Polish (:xyxthumbs), Mother's Mag & aluminum polish, 0000 steel wool and a lot of elbow grease did the job. Polished the grill and chrome wheels also (Mothers Chrome polish). Polished the windshield with Zaino glass polish and PC :xyxthumbs.

Will wash both the Escalade and LS400 today and add a coat of Z2.

After that I will watch the Pats/Steeler game @ 4 EST.

All this after "working" in the ER this morning for 5 hours.

Amazing what energy a little bit of sunshine will produce. :wavey

Today wasn't as awesome as yesterday. It started out ok. Great weather, and I had a paying job to do. Basic interior vacuum and dash etc, wash and wax. He didn't want the polish so obvisouly there was stuff I couldn't get off with out using my finer nail on everything. Not to mention, the marks were black, the car was white. I had just run out of IG too, so I only got the exterior windows done, and I hate windows already. He thought the door jams looked dirty, but thats because the dirt that had been there had already stained white the paint.

His dad (one of our family friends, good guy) didn't help much when he went up to one of the black scuff marks, licked his finger, and went to town on it. But of course! It comes off when you spend 5 minutes picking at it with your finger nail. The tar build up in the wheel wells wouldnt come clean with what I have, so that looked terrible on the white paint too.

Fortunately, my trusty can of s100 made the paint look good, and A2Z helped me on the wheels/tires. He liked the interior, which is ironic because it's the only thing I hate doing more than glass.

When I went over to chat with his dad about random stuff, he made a comment that made think twice about starting a detailing business at my age. More on this in a new thread.

I feel terrible that the guy wasn't pleased. He doesn't live in the neighborhood so I can't go fix whatever he didn't like. :(

I almost wanted to give the money back to his dad...

If he didn't want it polished, tell him to go screw himself. :P

Heh, I guess I could, but that wouldn't be too becoming of me. It's hard enough trying to get someone to pay what I would charge for a quality detail. Add in the fact that I'm about half the age of the normal detailer. It takes a special person to recognize and appreciate what I do.

Mongoose, how old are you?

Carl

Won't be 15 until December. So, 14 :)

You express yourself really well in writing. That's a nice skill to have, it acts as an "equalizer" on the internet. You'll get accepted for who you are, without regard to your age.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I try to act mature, and I guess it's worked as everyone's had to ask my age! :)
