What a scam!!!!

I have an account that is a used car dealer and the majority of his inventory is auction cars from lease turn ins. He deals in high end luxury cars and sells a ton of s class mercedes. I was called to his place this past week for a 04 SL500 that he bought from aucion. He said the car was bought dirt cheap because it was all scrathed and marred. He wanted to see what I could do with it before he resorted to the body shop for new paint. From a distance the car looked beyond hope. I said to myself how can anybody do this to such a nice car. It had about 22,000 miles on it. Upon further inspection The scratches didnt look deep and I could at best make it look alot better than it did with some wet sanding and polishing. I told him that I would need the car the entire day and let him know a price before hand. He agreed and I went to work. To make a long story short, The scratches werent scratches at all. They were marks left by somebody with a permanent marker at the auction (most likly a bidder) to simulate scratches. I was amazed on how whoever did this simulated marring with nothing more than a sharpie. I was happy and so was my customer.

Many stealerships will do whatever they can to make a buck. I have yet to deal with or hear about one that goes against this stereotype.

My uncle once wiped down his Astro van before trade-in with WD-40 and dropped it off at dusk. They thought it looked in awesome condition until the next day. It had rained that night and there were oil puddles all around the van.

:nervous: umm...now why would your uncle do that??

Simple- the van's paint was dead. WD-40 + late evening/low light conditions = seemingly better trade-in. They knew the van was high mileage but offered considerably more money than it was worth. Score one for my uncle financially. Morally I don't agree with it, but then again compared to stealerships I probably look like a saint.

Good story! and yeah I have heard of the WD-40 thing....and I heard it actually worked...But this was on a flat black car that was suppose to be shinny black...LOL and it wasnt a dealer it was a private buyer you fell for it... :LOLOL ...
