Wet Sand Marks in the Plastic Head Lights

Just One More Coat
I'm working on a 350Z pics will come once its done. The previous owner sparay some kind of clear coat on the plastic HL Lens and did a mickey mouse job of it. The new owner sanded them down getting about 80's off and leaving some heavy dude sand marks on the plastic.

I'm going to be working on it tomorrow. The car was trashed on the outside (jet black) I have done the paint work to about 90% But the lends pose as a problem

I have 600, 400, 380 sand paper.

Anyone have any suggestions?

So far I've hit the plastic with the rotary, cutting pad and PB PP..made them clear and shinning (must better) but the marks are not coming up.

Should I re-sand starting with the 380 and work my way back up to get the marks out, then polish?

Thanks all:cool:

I have been practicing a lot with headlights lately. I would probably start with the 800 grit. Start with side by side motion. 1000 grit up and down motion and repeat for 1500 and 2000. Hope they turn out well!

Wally pretty well nailed it. I start with 1000 or 1500 at the worst, then 2000, then finish off with 3000 grit disks on my 3 inch Griots, then go to compound and polish.
