I did that one time in my life. It was 19 years ago. I had a rental car (believe a Horizon hatchback). Zipped around in a parking lot with a friend, which was fun. We spotted a pile of snow that looked closely like a ramp but jumping it wasn't our plan. We were going to plow through it. Little did we know the bulk of this mound/ramp was ice. When the car went up the pile instead of through it we were shocked. When it stopped on top of the mound we just laughed and laughed. Laughter stopped once the realization that we were stuck set in. Took us about an hour to chip the ice away with a tire iron so that the front wheels could touch. My friend was in the hatch area rocking the car up and down. The wheel finally caught enough and the car was set free. He feel out the back but was unharmed. Luckily no damage to the car.

I was alone and tried digging, then finally got behind the car with the bumper jack (remember those?) and used it as a lever under the rear bumper while the car was idling in gear. I finally managed to pry the car loose, then had to race after it as it took off driverless across the parking lot. Ya know, it's really not that easy to get a '64 Olds out of a snowbank all by yourself, but I did finally manage. I influenced my friend to take out her mom's Tracker for some fun. If this had the V6 it would have been more eventful, but it's the 4 cylinder and it doesn't have enough grunt to do much more than putter along.

My cousin and I had a similar "brainstorming" in my 82 Subaru GL 15 years ago. We actually did plow into it, but the car got stuck halfway through (the pile was probably 15 feet across). One of the folks that lived nearby brought out his Bobcat but the only thing that we could access to hook a chain up to was my trunk. He finally got it yanked out but it pulled the lower half of the trunk out to a point, and the lid had to be tied down with boot strings...
Then we found a parking lot at the old skating rink that had been plowed into piles but there was fresh snow on the ground. You could build up some speed to 15-20 miles an hour and try to nick one of those snow mounds with the corner of my front bumper and it would send you into a spinning frenzy. Talk about fun!

Finding an unplowed lot around here is pretty easy, finding one without lamposts or curbs in the middle of the lot is a bit harder.

I tried that on my dads Denali quadrasteer, and let me tell you, the combo of 4wheel steer and awd is amazing for cyclones. the front and rear wheels turned opposite and the front pulled along with the rear so it was like being in a tornado, until I realized the ditch was coming closer.
