Wen Polisher

I bought a 4" Wen DA polisher. Man it works great for applying polishes and last steps. Cyclo pads fit spot on too. Anyone else used one?

Ya, I have purchased a Wen in years past. I am glad that you like the Wen. In my experience I thought it was the worst purchase of my detailing career. In fact I once tried to give it away to a DC forum member. He chose to not accept it. I thought that he made a good choice.

That type of machine will probably work OK to apply a galaze, a sealant and a wax, but is it worth the effort to mess with it when those products are so easy to apply by hand?
You need to get out the polisher.
Get out an extension cord.
Get out the pads.
Change the pad after using each product.
Put everything away.
Clean the pads after use.

Like CW, I had a 10" Wen many years ago and I gave it away.

FWIW, I don't feel it is worth getting out the PC to apply LSPs. It's great for polishing, but the LSPs I use are so easy to apply by hand, that's how I use them.

Now for the important part.
If it works for you, go for it! :bigups

What he said. :bigups

the 4" wen is handy for appying waxes. for me it is faster than by hand. i use it all of the time with a soft 4" pad. batteries aren't great.

Mine is electric with a 1/2 hp motor. It came with a stiff brush pad too. Man what a great job on the bathroom tiles! It's kind of like having half of a Cyclo?

That's what happens when I jump to conclusions.
The Wen I had probably had a 1/4 hp motor or even less. It used 10" bonnets for the polishing media that were put on over a foam backing plate. As I remember it, the amperage draw was pretty close to that of the PC, maybe even a little more. The polishing capability was no where near that of the PC, though.
Like I said, if it works for you, that's the important thing. :bigups
