Weird...I think my M105 went bad :( (DA version)

So I was working on a black DTS this weekend and I needed to fill up my M105 bottle before working. As I was shaking up the gallon jug of M105 I noticed it seemed rather runny. When poured it into the little bottle I was like WTF! I'm not sure what happened but the last half gallon or so has become VERY runny. So runny that if you tried to put 4 pea sized drops on the foam pad and then tilted it, they would immediately run off. I went ahead and used it anyway, but I was having some gumming issues.

I'm going to call Meguiars Customer service today or tomorrow. It never really gets hot in my garage either. I'd say 80-85 tops.

Can you tell if its clumpy or the thick stuff stuck to the bottom of the jug? I had some Carbrite stuff that did that. It was super runny, but the main thick clumpy stuff was on the bottom. Really had to shake and work it and get it all mixed up again. Now i keep my stuff in a spare refrigerator. Havent had that problem since.
Good luck

I'll have to double check later tonight, but I'm pretty sure I would have noticed the added weight on the bottom of the gallon had it been like that. I had filled another bottle about 2 weeks prior and it was fine then.

I haven't used Car Brite in years! We used to use Phaze Glaze all the time though when I was at a high volume shop. :D

This happened to me with the sample bottle I bought from ADS with the first of the new version when it was released. It turned into the constancy of water.I gave it to Mike Stoops a couple of months ago at one of the TNOG and he gave it to the Chemists.

Unfortunately, since the sample bottles didn't have batch numbers there wasn't much they could do with it. Call up Megs customer care and give them the batch number.

What is funny, is that I had the same size bottle of the old version right next to the new version and it is still fine.

Yeah, I know customer care will get it taken care of. ;)

I got this gallon the day Rick first got the DA version in stock too. I also still have a little of the old version left and it's fine.

LOL...it did almost look like I was buffing with milk! :D

I used both the 105/205 this past weekend without any problems .I keep my products in the garage no A.C. and the temputures in South Fla have been in the upper 80's low 90's
Sure seems what you describe is it separated some how and maybe a really good shaking may help.

Harleyguy,

There are no clumps at the bottom to be shaken up. I shook my bottle up until my arm started to go numb. The consistency stayed watery (or like Rasky put it, Milk :)). It may be a problem with the first batch of DA formula M105 only, I don't know.

Rasky, Please provide a follow up and let us know what Meguiar's says.

Thanks,

Mike

I had the same issue with 2 bottles of Megs Ultimate Compound. I am thinking of calling Megs Customer Service. No matter how much I shake it the product stays runny :(

I'll try and shoot off an email tonight to customer service but I'm heading to Hawaii for a week so I'll update when I get back....we all know Meguiars will take care of it anyway.

I think UC is supposed to be on the runny side--at least mine is--but let us know what Customer Service says.
