Weekend Quickie Detail

COME AT ME BRO
This is a quickie I did for my dad on his 1994 S-10 pickup. He uses it to go in & out of the woods and various other activities. It was completely filthy, inside & out, spiderwebs from washing with a brush, scratches from driving through the woods, etc., etc.

I had a limited amount of time, so my process was wash & clay, ColorX with polishing pads on the Cyclo, topped off with Wolfgang. I debated whether or not to post this up, as the paint on the truck is in horrible shape, with clearcoat failure, chips, unreapirable scratches, and the like. But I figured it could show two things: 1) the power of ColorX as a polish 2) the ability to use angles and lighting to make bad paint look good anyway.

The ColorX removed about 80-85% of the cobwebbing, all the scuffs from tree limbs, and a good deal of "junk" from the paint. It also gave the black paint a deeper look. Here's some before and afters. I wanted to get some afters outside in the sun, but it came a pretty good downpour about halfway through and didn't stop until later in the afternoon.

Afters - you can notice in some of the pics chips & other paint flaws that are unrepairable:

Chips or not it is always nice to see a shiny truck. ColorX has been around for quite some time. Have read often that it produces good results by hand. I can only imagine what can be done with a Cyclo.

I like the look of the truck!!!

Quite an improvement for a "quickie"!! Your Dad must be pleased :bigups
He'll be wanting to use your truck for his "woods treks" now!
