After I bathed it in acid twice and clay with Clay Magic fine grade

I got to try out my rotary skills , I'm a newbie at this . I borrowed my friends Porter Cable and used it at 1500 with a yellow pad with SSR 2.5. Lots of fun and a little nervous anxiety at the sametime..
The rest was done with R/O PC w/ yellow pad on 5k . PB PwC
The wheels cleaned with diluted acid
Engine bay simple green and aggitate.Dressed with Meg's # 40
Chrome done with PwC .
Tires and bumpers with Malco Premium Clear .
Interior was Oxy /APC mix .Extrated with clean water.I took out the running boards to get everything.

After 8 hrs I still couldn't get all the dried wax left over from previous waxes. The wells were dressed with #40 and it came out alot better but still had soo much little things to do . i gave up after 8 straight hours. It was getting dark and I was HUNGRY...

Nice transformation on that nightmare. Did you try a polish with a cleaner on those water spots before the acid bath ? Tell me more about this acid wash you did . TIA

I wonder if it's vinegar you're talking about for the acid bath.

One HELL of a job. That is a GREAT before and after. Keep it up!!!

What did they say when they saw it? Must have been a cool reaction...

Awesome Job, I hope you got PAID LARGE for that. You easily increased the value of that vehicle by 1K-2K.

Great Job!

Thanks for the compliments guys . I feel it was only at about 85% done. I gave the guy 50 bucks off and he gave a 25 tip so I ended up with 2 C notes.

here's the acid bath . Its got a consistency of glue and you gotta protect your hands. Its good for paint and glass . Its a real time saver but its potent..

Now here's the wheel acid that you dilute and it works great ..Robman and I have talked about how detailers will use certain products vs. the ordinary guy at home to speed up the process or that can have bad side effects if used incorrectly. These are 2 of those products. The key word is ACID.

The best part is these are only $20 a gallon. And if used properly get good results . The wheel acid is killer on BMW brake dust . But Please be careful if you use these. They're acid and should be dilute and not let sit on paint or windows more than 30 seconds..

The stuff is actually made by Coats. www.coatsproducts.com They have lots of good stuff. Their very cherry wax is hard to beat for the 23 or so bucks a GALLON that it costs. Although I shouldn't be giving away all of Hawaiian's secrets. LOL

awesome job. I have the same truck but no place to work on it. Those pics are driving me crazy knowing what my 4runner could look like.

I found the cherry wax, but did not see the Auto Chem system water spot remover, but the site is under construction. Anywhere to buy it locally on the mainland?

Great work! That is one of the biggest turnarounds I have seen on here.

I would also like to know if there is anywhere to get the Water Spot Remover stateside. People cringe at the idea of me breaking out the vinegar bottle to use on their cars. Not to mention I would love something easier to work with, the vinegar takes alot of scrubbing with a MF applicator to get the desired results.

auto chem system is the hawaiian brand of coats products. They buy it and relabel it would be my guess. I believe it's called fall out gel on the coats web site. You would have to call them and ask..or you could try and order it from ACS...but I seriously doubt they will ship it since it's an acid chemical.

Like BIgChevMan says its relabeled by ACS . I was under the impression that it was made by Malco. You should be able to get it on the mainland. CONUS.
ACS might ship it to you by ship and then ground , but NO air because of what Chev said.

Thanks for the great compliments . I had to scrub all the badging and rubbers to get the wax out. From the pics I noticed I didn't get the gas lid..

I've got to say, my favorite pics are the before and after of the engine detail. I am amazed at how good people can get engines looking.

Nice Job.
