COME AT ME BRO
I have a client dropping their car off with me for an entire week. This is good for me on a couple of levels - mainly I am hoping that it'll jumpstart my fire for detailing again. I just have really been out of it for a couple of months. I am looking forward to it, I think in part because I have the time to be very, very meticulous on this job.

Just a few quickie details: It's a mid to late 2000's model Ford Explorer. Maroon in color. Has never - I repeat never - been polished/waxed. I am doing the full Monty on it - starting with an undercarriage cleaning/wheel removal cleaning and moving on to the engine bay and the interior and exterior.

I have several polishes on hand that I am going to be trying out thanks to Charles, Budman, and Kirk. I have everything planned out - with one exception. I thought it might be fun to list a bunch of LSP's and see what you guys think I should use. Make a vote and give a reason if you feel like it. This is as much for me getting my drive back as for anything else, so let me know what you think.

It's coming over to stay with me this Friday (4/11).

I've had two cars recently like this a week long project..I choose WG sealant only because I like the high gloss of the product...but that's not saying you should not top that off with a good paste wax.

The rest are all good choices but WG just stands out for me

Can you top pretty much ANY sealant with a sealant?
I like FMJ or WG sealants for a first LSP coat anyway

The Zaino Z-5 PRO would seem to be a good choice in this instance.

1. You have it and don't seem to be so enamored with it that you don't still use some other products on your own vehicles. This would be a place where you could put it to good use.

2. Since the vehicle doesn't see a lot of care, the durability of Zaino could be a good thing.

Now, after having said all that, my personal choice under those circumstances would be the Collinite #845 Insulator Wax. :D

Wow, all those views and so few votes. :(

How about this - if you vote and then post what you voted for and I decide to use that, I'll put your name in a hat along with the others who made the same choice. I'll draw a name, and whoever I draw I'll send some sort of sample to. Is that fair?

Also, is that legal by DC rules?

I chose Z-2, I like the look and have used it on a Maroon SUV before it it gave a nice look to it....Its easy to use, and has good protection...thats my choice...

845IW. I've never used it, but I have seen pics of the beading. Seeing those beads may convince the owner of the truck to wax it once in a while himself. I know I enjoy watching the water bead and roll off my car when it rains...it's a satisfying feeling to anyone who loves their car (and obviously, he cares a little for it to drop it off for a weeks worth of detailing work).

I'd say use whichever one gives you the desired results....

then again you might wanna use....

JP, you seem to be a little light in the LSP department (only a dozen or so). Why not pick up something new to try out? Maybe Finish Kare or Optimum line? I've been thinking about giving the FK1000P a try myself.

I would say that for a vehicle that has never been polished before and most likely will be a long time before it is polished again Z5Pro would be my choice with Z2Pro on top of that to give it protection, shine, and clarity. But I suspect that you already knew that:notme:

I actually have more than that, but I tried to narrow it down to what I have used in the recent past and some things that people tend to hang on to as favorites. By all means, if you are extending an offer to send me some different LSP to try I'll send you my address pronto! :D Haha.
