Weatherstrip/Trim cleaning

I"m not sure the exact term that describes what I'm talking about....it"s the rubber surrounding the inside of the car doors(but it's on the body of the car itself)...it directs the water/rain to the bottom so it can flow out....I've been cleaning these with vinylex and it looks great....there's all kinds of little leaves in there etc....but what I wanted to know is...will these rubber pieces get"out of shape" from all my manipulation...with they lose their form....which would prevent them from directing the water correctly....I treat then very gently but as you probably already know...some parts are a little flimsy feeling and I'm always scared it will just come off.....

As long as you simply rub them with a gentle to medium stroke, with the appropriate material (303, Z-16, the BMW "rubber" conditioner, etc.), I do not think you should have a problem. I am not aware of any need to assault the trim, so would not anticipate any trouble.
