my weathershield (regular) beads way better! :D (except when dirty, then the water just pools) that was one thing that surprised me when i saw how well the cover protected my car from the passing shower. it was like an awesome wax, the water just beaded and would just roll off the cover. :xyxthumbs

it looks like you've had some heavy rains. how'd it do? kept the car dry?

This storm passed through about three hours ago, and that's when I saw the beading action and ran inside to grab the camera. We get rains like this in the south pretty much all summer long, so this is normal to just pop up every now and then.

I don't use this car much (it's actually for sale), so the cover stays on it months at a time. So far, the longest I have left it on was two months and when I take it off, it looks like the day I put it on.

To answer your question, it doesn't matter how hard it rains or for how long, it stays bone dry. :bow

wow. my regular weathershield sometimes allows some water to pass through, not a whole lot, just spots here and there. i think that's when the cover is dirty and needing a wash.

but it's something when you see the water beading and rolling off the cover. i was in awe the first time i saw that. :D

Hi Jason. What's the best method for washing these things? Mine only repelled the water like that for a few weeks. Now it just looks like a soggy saturated bit of material and that's after washing it several times too!

I've tried liquid (bleach free) and powder detergent and tumble drying it at home and also at a cleaners, but it's no use.

Any hints and tips you might have would be really appreciated.

Chris,

I'd love to help, but I have no idea. I've only owned mine since February, and whenever it rains it cleans itself. It almost seems that dirt doesn't really penetrate this cover like ones I've owned in the past.

I guess the best thing to do is contact the manufacturer and let us know what they say. I'm actually thinking about treating it with some Raggtop Protectant to keep the cover performing like new, but I'm not sure if it's good for the cover or not.
