It would be nice if the condition of a paint job could be described in a few characters. Here is the grading system for the clarity of a diamond...
F, IF, VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2, S1, S2, S3, I1, I2, I3
F (flawless) is best, followed by
Internally Flawless, followed by
Very, Very Small Inclusions (2 grades) followed by
Very Small Inclusions (2 grades) then
Small Inclusions (3 grades), then
Imperfect (3 grades)
Could the same be done for paint jobs? I would like to see future posts like "'03 LEXUS ES I2 to VVS1".
Just like diamonds you might need different grades for Color, Clarity, etc...
