Wd-40?

I would use a cleaner wax to make sure you remove everything that WD-40 leaves on the paint.

If you dont remove all of the WD-40 it may make the paint splotchy.

But yea, it should be just fine to use. :)

Before I got into karting, I had no idea what a great cleaner WD-40 is. :) We use it to clean everything on the kart but the brakes. Oil, chain lube, tire marks, grass, dust-you name it. I go though a supersized can abut once a month. :)

I have oxidation around the outside of my windshield and back and heard that Wd40 can take care of this.. does anyone have any info on this?

it might hide it for a few weeks or till it rains

but I don't think it will take care of it

WD-40 won't damage paint in any way. Dunno if plain water is sufficient to remove it, though. Maybe some car soap is better.

thank you mikebai1990 ,,, some one told me if you have plastic unpaint youcan use wd-40 to renew black color in unpaint surface.!!

On tar, skip WD40 and adhesive remover and go straight to lacquer thinner. Nothing is stronger on tar.

lacquer thinner can be very aggressive and many of the products in the thinner aren't necessary or even good tar removers. The best for tar removing is mineral spirits or xylene (xylol) for more stubborn areas. A 60/40 mix of mineral spirits and xylene makes for a very good tar remover. 27 years in the chemical and solvent industry has left me with a lot of experience as to what solvents work best with what materials.

I do believe that 3M adhesive remover is mineral spirits and Xylene.

Just checked the MSDS on the product and it's about a 50/50 blend of VM&P Naptha, which is a faster drying mineral spirit and Xylene.
