Hey guys,

This is the second detail that I promised. (First thread:WCM3 1st Detail: 95 Avus M3 - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum - E90Post.com). After receiving comments back from the first detail, I really wanted to purchase some Menzerna products. However, I figured I would save a little money right now and use the remaining SSRs. I'm planning to buy the Merzerna before my Spring detail, as well as, a Flex. Please comment and let me know how it went.

To be honest, during the detail I was extremely fed up. My previous M3 was fairly easy to correct, and was 13 years old. I actually ended up searching bimmerforums, autopia, and e90post for suggestions on how to detail jet black. It would come up nice after the polishing, but then when I would wipe it with my microfiber it would cause faint marring. I'm going to be prepared in the spring to tackle this again, hopefully coming up with a different routine.

Nice work Mike!

I'll assume you used a rotary?

This is the only time I'd say that you shouldn't try to get it 100%. YOU CAN"T.

Worst paint ever.

^^^^ agreed....check out my website and my showcase details...exact same thing and you just have to be satisfied with some minute marring that you can only see from 6" away from the paint...otherwise you are going to drive yourself insane, especially on a DD

Very nice work! This has indeed got to be the most horrible paint to work with. I detailed one of these before and even my softest MFs would faintly marr the paint unless I was extra careful with it.

Needless to say, for a DD, it's awful paint if you're an Autopain, it'll drive you mental!

First off excellent job on the 335 and might I say that your are avery extensive taper:LOLOL

And yea BMW black should be banned from the factory.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I actually used a UDM, it took me forever :(. I'm thinking about picking up a flex sooner or later. Hopefully that will work better.

Paint that damages that easy wouldn't be acceptable on a Hyundai, much less on a BMW. They should really address that issue.

Good work! I havent seen too many people with the PB clay. How do you like it?

I liked it a lot. I dealt with glimmer glass detailing a lot in the beginning of my detailing, and Chris recommended it. It worked great IMO. The only thing I can compare it to is the clay you buy at pep boys..maybe mcguires. I liked PB more then that..
