WaxWorks: recent details

DaGonz

Autopia fire/rescue.
Here are pictures of two of the three vehicles I detailed this week.

First up: A black Lexus 330 RX I did for a Brother Firefighter who was working the night tour. I picked up the vehicle at Fire Headquarters a little after 6:00 PM and retunred it to HQ when I went into work for the day shift at 8:00 AM The paintwork was in good condition, with minor swirling, a couple of rids and it needed to be clayed.

The process:

The engine compartment had a lot of dust, it was misted with water and Meguair's APC, agitated and rinsed.

Tires and wheels cleaned using CAR products Magnum Wheel cleaner amnd MaxiWhite tire cleaner.

Wheel wells cleaned with Meguiar's APC.

Paintwork was foamed with Detailer's Pro foaming shampoo and let to dwell., rinsed and refoamed.

The paintwork was then washed with Meguiar's Gold Class via 2 bucket method, dried with microfiber drying towels.

Claying was done with Meg's blue clay with #34 Final inspection as a lube.

Paintwork was polished via PC and Lake Country pads, using Meg's #83 and #9.

LSP was Meg's #21 via PC and a Lake Country finishing pad.

Glass was cleaned with Stoner's Invisible Glass, exterior glass treated with RainX.

Wheels were sealed with Meg's #21.

Tires and trim treated with Stoner's More Shine and Trim Shine.

The interior was clean. The carpeting was vacuumed, the mats were cleaned with Folex and extracted via Bisell LGM and the interior surfaces were gone over with Meg's Interior QD.

Lexol products on the leather seating surfaces.

Next: a Space Gray 2007 BMW 335i. This car had a little over 46K on the odometer, the paintwork also had minimum swirling with a few rids and desparately needed claying, as the whole car had a rough feeling to it.

The process:

The engine compartment was surprisingly clean, so I just went over it with QD and an older microfiber.

Mega depth coming off that Lexus, and the 335i looks all kinds of sharp. Great work as always Ron.

...good to see M21 still in the arsenal as well.
