WaxWorks: 2009 Ford F-150 XLT

DaGonz

Autopia fire/rescue.
I finally got to detail one of my own vehicles... my 2009 F-150 XLT Supercab 4x4. I purchased this truck pre owned on December 23rd, 2011 after selling my Jeep to my son. All I had done over the winter was wash it and use QD, so it was long overdue!

The process:
I washed the truck at the firehouse early last evening, so when I got home I just went over it with ONR in a QD solution to remove a light pollen accumulation, then taped up the trim using 3M painter's tape

Clayed with Schlegel's Gray Ghost fine grade clay with Meguiar's #34 final inspection as a lubricant.
Buffed with Meguiar's #2 fine cut cleaner on via PC with a Lake Country cutting pad
Polished with Meguiar's #9 swirl remover via PC with a Lake Country polishing pad.
LSP was Meguiar's #21 Synthetic Sealant X2
Glass cleaned with sprayway glass cleaner and microfiber towels
Exterior glass treated with RainX
Wheels were cleaned using Eagle 1 NevrDull and sealed with Megs #21.
Exterior trim rtreated with Stoner's Trim Shine
Tires treated with Stoner's More Shine.
Headlights and tailights were polished with Meg's PlastX and sealed with Meg's #21

The interior just got a good vacuuming and the dash and door panels were cleaned using Surf City's Dash Away interior cleaner. Total time was 8 hours ( 1.5 hours washing the night before, 6.5 hours detailing)

Nice looking truck!

For me, white is a difficult color to really see results that show up in pictures. It always looks brighter but as not much in the effort involved.

The new Fords are a nice looking truck. Now that you're finished it glows and the photos really shows are nice a white truck can look! :bigups

Sweet looking truck, great work on it. Do you ever get to work on any of the vehicles at work?

Negatory. At my rank in the FD, I get to have my vehicle cleaned for me; and I am far to busy with being the shift commander, plans review, inspections, handling communications issues and running calls as incident command.

This is my ride at the MFD...
