Waxing Wheels

I just realized that I can use the AIO I bought a few weeks back to clean my wheels. They are a little easier to clean now just using some soap and water. I am wondering what sealant to choose to put over them or can I put a sealant over them safely?
Or can I just use a carnuaba wax over them? This concept is a little new for me as I am just used to putting wax on my car. I don't want to ruin my factory wheels. On a side now I never purchased the SG for the AIO but I am considering using poorboys ex-p.

AIO topped with 4 Star UPP sealant works for me.
The Poorboy's EX-P should work good, too.

The general thought seems to be that a sealant is much better than a carnauba wax for durability. The heat is supposedly very hard on the carnauba. :dunno

Definately try EX-P. I have an experiment going right now with NXT on one side and EX-P on the other. I'm going to see which one cleans off the easiest.

Is that you Michelle? The last few batches of pics I sent have been with AIO on my wheels. It has held up well...I've washed my wheels with heavy soap & spray 4 or 5 times in the 2 months it has been on there...with SG on top of AIO the durability should be excellent.

I do the same as JasonD every three months. In between I wash with soap and water and apply EO WAUD.

EX-P will also be great topping AIO on them...I thought you had bought SG...guess I didn't read your original post closely enough...we've both bought so many products that it is hard to keep up. :lmfao

These pics should be in my Photobucket albums...let me know if you want me to resend the link.

Aloha CharlesW , carnuba has a lower melting point than the polymer in sealant so it burns off quicker.

AIO and 2-3 coats of sg will do your wheels good for at least
3 months, with minor to no issues issues when it comes to
cleaning (just use non-stripping shampoo that you use on the
car, and you're good to go:cool )

I'm also a believer that any good synthetic wax (like EX-P) will hold up longer on wheels and make for easier cleaning.

Keep in mind, if you clean the wheels with a wheel cleaner, or more aggressive product than car wash soap and water, you will need to re-apply a protective coating.

I agree that synthetics will probably last longer on rims, but I often use paste waxes on my rims for looks (i.e. Collinite, Pro's Yellow Wax). Seems to come out glossier. When the rims get dirty, I wash them with car wash soap and take a quick detailer to them like Adam's or Bead X. Never had a problem with this process.
