Waxing tires and rims?

What do you wax your tires with? and how? Until I started reading this forum, I never heard of this. I figure waxing the outside of the tire and the rim shouldn't be a problem. But do you wax the threads(bad idea????) and the inside. Also, I don't think most waxes would be good for this, what do you use?

i've been here for a while and never heard of somone waxing their tire. Their wheel, yes. If you see ashiny tire in somone's picture it is tire dressing. like meguires endurance. or tw tire gel.

I've never heard of waxing tires either. I use a carnuba wax on my chrome rims.

If your wheels are clearcoated, (very likely), just use the same stuff you use on your paint for your wheels. Tires, I use 303 protectant. 303 gives you matte finish tires which is what I prefer. Many other tire dressings will give you the shiny tire look if that is what you are looking for.

Yeah, you're right when I read wheel, I translated it into tire not rim. I thought it sounded strange.
