Well with nothing else to do and having a neglected black Pontiac sitting in the driveway I thought I practice my polishing skills and do a wax test. I used the Makita 9227c and started off with M105 using a orange light cutting pad which was followed by M205 with a white foam polishing pad. I then applied the three different wax's I had: Meguiars tech wax, Mothers Powerwax and Collinites 845. I've always heard how people claim one wax provides a better, deeper, wetter, shinier, and longer lasting finish than the other, so I put it to the test. After M205 I applied the Tech wax and PowerWax with the Porter cable and Collinites by hand.

Now after everything was applied and allowed to sit for a while It was then buffed off using the port cable using a microfiber bonnet (a fresh bonnet for each wax).

After everything was buffed off I then took the car out of the shade and into sunlight. Results: The only thing that SORT OF and I say SORT OF because you had to be on a certain angle to see this but the Tech wax, I believe left more of a wet look than the others but nothing really to even get excited about. IMO and from what I saw with my own eyes I would have to say you can't tell the difference between the three wax's. There was no point in taking a picture of the end result as you would never be able to see any difference between the three. But one thing that I could notice right away was how the paint beads when it had rained on the car. **Tech wax and and powerwax applied on the left side & Collinites applied on the right.**

LEFT SIDE

RIGHT SIDE

As you can see the side that the Collintes 845 (right) was applied to - its appears to allow the water to bead and roll off easier than the Tech & power wax.
So now the next test will be: How will they last?! I've heard so much about the Collinite 845 and how long it last but now only time will tell and I'll keep you updated on that one.
