Wax removal

In bed with your wife
What's the best way (interpreted, 'easiest') to remove wax so one may start over? And, how often should wax be stripped?

Thanks.!!

Clay is about the best way to remove old product and set the surface up for new product...As for how often depends on how the car is stored and weather conditions....I do two full details twice a year on my garage queens.....in between all that I just maintain the finish with polish and waxing

hmmm...so, if mine is a daily driver, I might consider it once a month? I'll look into that. Thanks for the tip!

For a daily driver I would clay about every 3 months, also depending on weather conditions.....trick is to maintain your finish threw using S&W and QD on a regular bases...I do my cars almost everyday this way

Clay will definitely remove some perhaps all wax on your car. Some people will probably recommend washing your car with Dawn dish washing soap, but repeated use of Dawn will dry out rubber & plastic. Also, it's constantly debated how affective removing wax with Dawn really is.

IMHO the best way to be sure you remove all the wax is to use a product intended for removing wax like a good polish. You can use an abrasive polish or a non-abrasive polish depending on the needs of your paint. If your paint is defect free then use a non-abrasive polish such as Poorboy's Pro Polish. If you have scratching, swirling, or marring on your paint then use an abrasive polish. Some popular abrasive polishes include Poorboy's SSRs, Menzerna, Optimum, Meguiar's but there are many other good brands as well.

If you want to remove the old wax you can use polish I do that every so often then twice a year I hit it with clay....clay is designed to remove contaminates form the surface you won't see that much in a month twice a year is about enough
