Wax removal, by hand or bonnet?

I am about to order a kit from Excel detail and wanted to know some opinions on removing wax/sealant with a bonnet type product. Does the surface of it get gummed up with wax fast ? Is it really that much faster taking it off or should I save the money and do it by hand.

Im asking because my previous experiences with terry cloth bonnets (Random orbit polishers that cost $30 at Walmart) have been disappointing, maybe I used too much wax back then, but they got gummed up very quickly.

Same as Mr. Clean 2K ^^^^^^

They will get loaded up pretty fast, but a MF bonnet is nice to use as a final buff after you've removed the bulk of it with a regular MF.

Heh heh, I usually do it the other way- I go over it with the bonnet and then do a final buff by hand (or sometimes with another bonnet). Seems that however you approach it, one buff with the bonnet will probably *not* be enough.

They don't load up all *that* fast if you put the LSP on nice and thin. But I still go through a fair number of them...

I don't have any MF bonnets for my PC but I have used the "trap a MF towel with a flat foam pad on a PC" method & achieved excellent results removing Collinite #476s.

I tried doing a section of the hood by hand & another section using the previously stated method and the "MF towel with a PC" method definitely left the surface slicker.

Perhaps the 100's of O/S (oscillations per second) with a PC had a burnishing effect but this method definitely beats hand removal.
