Wax on glass?

Does anybody here wax glass with regular car wax? I heard of someone doing this, and I didn't think it could be good at all. What would happen?

I had the same question a while back, but nobody said anything:( I use wax on my windows at times, nothing really happens or nothing has happened to me yet!It leaves a very nice shine thought.I use it on my front window when I go on a road trip,it's really nice when it rains, you dont have to use them the water does not stick at all.Like I said I use it and nothing happened yet so I will keep on doing it.Good luck:bounce

I agree that wax on glass looks good & gives a nice final touch to the car, but stay away from the windshield. Eventually it will cause smearing & wiper chattering. Use one of the windshield products designed for that.

I love VM on glass except the front windshield. Applies and removes in a breeze. I stick with regular glass cleaner like Stoners for the front.

If ya get the windows properly clean, I dont see why you would NEED to wax em.

Rain-X or Aquapel are a better bet as theyre designed for glass.

I wouldnt wax em due to the smearing and potential visibility problems.

I used to wax my glass (windshield included) all the time without problems. Until the wipers were needed, that is. Then the windshield became a nightmare. But at the time I lived in So Cal where we got very little rain. Heck, I even took off my wipers since I almost never used them.

If you want something to bead water on glass, Rain X or Aquapel are better choices by far than wax.

I use Autoglym glass polish on the windows. Works great. I put it on every few months. I do all the windows including the windshield. Helps repel water and improves wiper action.

Beats Rain-X. That stuff is a pain to get off.
