Wax illusion or real?

 Hehe. Just my opinion. I applied wax half on my car hood & the other half without wax. Just prep the surface using DC1. My car is silver tho. No difference also.....???

The reason I say this coz I wax the fender & let it haze then wipe off. My 1st impression was "wow" shinning...!!! Then I compare the un-wax hood, "huh??" also shinning. I think it's coz when I see the haze area, my brain will focus on the white haze surface, as I begin to wipe it to shine, my eyes will see the surface from haze white to clear clarity shine? So I feel its like an illusion.....???? Hehehe. :woohoo:

Since the surface is well prep & the paint condition was in good condition. I guess maybe I have reach maximum shine & no longer can see any difference? Or is it coz mine is silver color? :p

maybe its coz ur color is silver, because i've already tried that in my red Audi and i could see perfectly the waxed side and the non-waxed side :D

I would love to say that I see a difference, but I can't. I guess I don't have an autopian eye. I couldn't wait to try various new waxes and have waxed one side of the hood and couldnt tell. But thats just me.

With some products I can't tell the difference and with others it's quite noticable. If you can't tell the difference it's either the silver color or your product is lacking.

Hehehe....guess it must be my paint. Coz I park it beside a Merc S-class today. The Merc silver looks so bright, wet & glossy. While mine looks a bit dull pale darker silver compare to the Merc. I think its a different paint. Maybe mine is normal Metallic Silver Clear Coat. And Merc one might be like Pearlescent Silver...? Do u think it makes a difference...?

It depends on the condition of your paint and how you are looking. If you look at a perpendicular angle, its hard to tell. Different angles and different lights will reveal more differences.

Noting that I have had/have a lot of silver vehicles, I agree that a) it takes an "educated eye" to see some things, b) proper prep makes a lot more difference than the LSP, c) some LSPs are more obvious than others, they truly contribute something whereas others don't really add much of anything to a well-prepped surface, and d) some paints, and perhaps especially some silvers, are just a lot more impressive than others.
