I'm going to be doing a detail on a friends of mine car, and its yellow. What do you guys recommend to be the best wax to use on a yellow car? I'm going to claybar it first, so it will be a fresh service.

Thanks in advance! :bigups

There are many different shades of yellow, some being darker and some lighter. Almost all shades look great with any product as long as you have done the proper prep work. I personally like UPP, EX-P, Optimum Spray Wax, Natty's, Signature, Paste Glaz, and Carnauba Moose as some of my favorites (sealants + waxes). Can't go wrong with any of them, but one of my favorites so far is UPP.

Yellow is almost as hard as white to make it look good, but anything that works on red seems to work well.

A few I like are Natty's Blue, #26 and Paste Glaz.

Here are a few different combos on my Cobra.

EX-P + S100:

I think I may have some with the Klasse SG combo and some with #26. I'll take a look. The Klasse SG is about the only product I would not recommend for yellow. It did not look good at all really. #26 seemed to darken the paint some too.

theres a section over on the srt-4 boards that is similar to our click and brag. the 2003 special color for the srt-4 was solar yellow. Alot of the guys that own solar yellows use p21s and they always come out looking great. This is also with minimal prep because you know that only autopians perform proper polishing before LSP application!

anything will make it look good over a good surface prep.. try to get some smr work done , then something like Klasse , AIO and SG topped with Natty's worked well for me..

UPP , and of course Zaino
