Water Report

I just received the annual water report from the City.

Our total dissolved solids are 1000+ ppm :furious: :nono :down :wall :wall

No wonder I get water spotting.

Well, I'm really interested in your opinion of the CR Spotless system!

Can you actually 'test' the system b/4 you buy?

I was sent a CR Spotless system for evaluation. Hopefully, I'll soon be able to give my opinion/review of the system.

:)

That water is near being liquid rock...the resins will have to be recharged after a few washes...lol....

I used to live an Abilene, Tx. I had a saltwater aquarium, which needed 0 TDS in the water I used. I tested tap water there in Abilene, and it was over 1200. The people I got the TDS meter from actually thought it was broken, and sent me another one. Haven't checked the water here in GA, hopefully it is better than TX! Good luck!

Indy doesn't even list TDS... probably because it is so horrid.

I have a pwgazette water softner set up, and it helps give me extra time to dry. I may get a CRspotless next year in conjunction with the softner to make things easier yet.

I just got my pwgazette system today! My outside faucet is hard water only. I may eventuallly put in a soft line to outside, but the filter will work for now. It's impossible to wash the car without having to QD for watersposts afterward - no matter how quickly or well you dry it, they're there. I'm trying to think of a way to put a valve in to bypass it vs. having to hook it up and unhook it for rinsing.

I'm not sure where Indy draws their water, but we have an underground river here that is lined with solid limestone. Without a water softener, the water is actually sticky it's so hard.

And when I get my outside soft-water line, I'm going to do the hot & cold outdoor faucet my plumber was showing me - extend my winter wash season a bit.

How did you get a water report from your city? I'm getting a feeling when I see sediment in my hose attachments that the TDS readings are high!

Google: Your city's name and Water Report; should come up on a gov site. I tried but don't understand how your gov's hierarchy works. . . confused me

Santa Barbray. . .

629 yo! Floss after you drink it. :D

I have been buying RO from the Water Store for the last two years at 10¢/gallon which isn't too bad. I am working on installing a commercial RO system yielding about 100g/day though . . I'll be sharing its usage. They aren't cheap. Membranes and service can add up.
