on my front strut bar, i have water etching all over. i have tried mother's metal polish and optimum compound to remove them but didn't do anything...is there any way to remove the water etching? do i need to use better metal polish such as NXT or billet?

Thanks in advance.

i don't have a pic but it is just typical water etching very similar to the ones on the paint but on metal...

thanks

Did you try a water based cleaning method first? I remember a long time ago trying in vain to remove a coffee-cup ring on a metal table with solvent, only to have it wipe right off with water.

Reminds me of my aunt who was frustrated at some pencil marks on some wood work... I grabbed a pencil and they came right off with the eraser haha.

Back on topic..if the water doesn't work..I'd try a polish with more chemical action like Blue Magic paste or old school Noxon..then follow up with the Mothers you have.

Mother's is pretty mild IMO.
