Washing w/ONR and Claying

I have been using ONR for about three weeks and love it. I have been reading some previous posts about claying while washing with ONR. I was usually wash/dry then clay with QD. Now I am reading the post about claying while washing.

So...I am just confirming the process.

Wash w/ ONR as usual

While panel is wet...clay (in usual manner)

Wipe panel dry.

So basically, not using QD, unless I have too, i.e...panel dry's or touch up a spot.

Just want confirm this, so I can start using this process...seems it will same time, and actually be more effective than convention claying.

PS: Has anyone wash/clay/dry/polish/wax or seal a panel at a time???? Just curious.

Personally, given the dirt that my first drying pass picks up from the ONR solution on the paint, I'd be hesitant to clay using that solution as the lube. Granted, it's not a lot of dirt, but the towel that I use for the first drying pass doesn't stay clean.

I've clayed twice (I believe) with ONR, and I take a very conservative approach ... I wash and dry the section, then use a spray bottle filled with ONR solution, spray the panel, clay, rewash and dry.

Disclaimer: I just noticed the forum, and I am not a professional detailer but an enthusiast. Sorry!

dont clay before drying. As touched on above, dirt is trapped in the ONR...you don't want to use that as a lube. Dry it off and start clean.

Why not wash with ONR. Wipe dry and the clay with ONR mixed as a QD!

Thats the preferred method.....Dont clay while washing........ONR may react differently to clays though. ONR is great stuff, Im just not sure what it will do to a clay bar though....

I use a "wash" mixture of ONR as my claying lube, and it works fine with the blue (fine grade) Clay Magic. I haven't used any other types of clay, so I'm not sure what it'll do with others. :nixweiss

Thanks for the responses, I mixed the ONR in the QD proportion, and it worked great. I washed with ONR as usual and then clayed with ONR QD.
