Washing - to Suds or Not to Suds?

I have read some washing tutorials that say its bettter to just mix the soap and water and make as little suds as you can. I try to make some but not over do it so more soap stays suspended in the water. What are opinions on this?

Suds are a good thing when washing.

When the car wash soap suds up lots of foam, the soap foam adheres to the car longer than just soapy water which just sheets off or quickly drips off. The longer soap stays on the car, the better it will break up & lift dirt particles off the car resulting in a more thorough cleaning.

Soap Suds are our friends.

In addition to suds, lots of water helps prevent scratching. What I mean is, dont just wash the car with foam. Make sure the sponge, mit, etc. soaks up plenty of water before it touches your paint.

I keep as much fluid in mits as possible. It makes more sense to have as much soap in fluid as possible since I quickly rinse the area I just washed anyway.

i agree, soap suds give me a sense of comfort that the vehicle is being cleaned thoroughly, removing dirt particles.
