Washing the chasis?

I have a question guys. Is anyone out there so meticulous that they try to wash the chasis of their vehicle? If you do, what products do you use and how long does it take?

I usually drive the vehicle up on car ramps, rinse off the undercarrage, spary on some APC, brush if necessary and then hose/pressure wash off. I'm not too anal about getting it 100% clean but enough to get all of the salt and junk off.

I have a lifted Chevy tahoe...ive gone so far as to sanding the frame down to bare metal, painting it, and replacing all suspension bolts with zinc and stainless bolts.

Is there a dressing or a final product that you guys use after cleaning the chasis?

On details that you can see the undercarriage I do clean with pressure washer and some APC if required, then for a dressing. I use a water based spray on...like PB B-n-B

If you can see the undercarriage I really don't do anything to them but I don't live in an area that has snow and salt to deal with

What kind of paint do you use? I'm thinking of painting my undercarriage with a flat black acrylic enamel spray can paint. I'm in a high rust area, so I'll be spraying Rust Check underneath afterward.

I clean mine very thoroughly one to two times per year. I usually put it on jack stands and use a creeper to get around under it. I will use old rags & towels and a mix of APC (or other cleaner) and water.

In between, I usually wash wheel wells and visible parts of the frame and undercarriage with APC and brushes at each wash (probably 90+% of the time).

Chassis detailing?

This is a little off topic, but pretty close.

A friend of mine that ran with a bunch of Jeepers said that No Touch tire cleaner was pretty popular for making the wheel wells and undercarriage look good after one of their mud runs. Pressure wash off the mud, spray on the No Touch.
Anyone have any experience with that type of product?

Yup I use No Touch in the wells. I bought a 4 pack at Sams Club for $5-6. It gives a nice shine to the wheels wells and the price is right. I only use that in plastic wells... not on painted areas like the frame.

Yeah, sometimes I will use the Armor All foaming tire cleaner & dressing (or something similar) after cleaning. I haven't used anything like that in a while though.

its been a while, but i believe I went with a rubberized undercoating of some sort. its kind of textured, and dull.

I also did this to a customers lifted tahoe (not as extensive...just cleaned the frame and painted) using a matte (not flat, not shiney) paint and it turned out better.

POR-15 is the way to go though if you want show quality. its roll on paint, and its 100% rust proof. you have to go down to bare metal though.
