Washing NXT out of a PC pad

Detailed my wife's car this weekend. Used #80 topped with NXT. The NXT was applied with a PC using one of Megs polishing pads. During application the pad seemed to suck up alot of the NXT. When I came to washing the pad I was there for what seemed like half and hour rinsing it in warm soapy water and squeezing out mayonnaise. I guess I used too much NXT. How can I stop the pad taking so much up?

You gotta find a happy medium where you use as little product as possible but achieve good coverage. I had the same problem NXT was a PITA to remove from my black CMA pad.
 
i made a thread about cleaning pads the other day, do a search there are some greaet cleaning ideas.



i ended up throwing mine in the wash machine, it turned out pretty good, pad looked fine.



also, try spritzing quick detailer on the pad first, it'll help things out a bit

I’d agree with 99ITR_SC prime the pad first it will help to apply (and use) less product, when you’ve finished shake the pad to loosen any dust and then brush with a horsehair detailing brush, to make cleaning easier

i usually apply the nxt with the gray/black CMA pad. just rinsing it with the hose did nothing. but i contacted CMA on the "proper" way to clean the pads. they said to use a mild hand soap bar. rub it onto the pad and then work it into the pad with your hand. then rinse it out and let air dry. i have had no problems with the process. :xyxthumbs
