washing and drying

My Father has a black Grand Prix GT. We have had it now for about 6mons. It has some minor swirls in it. We blame it on the drying towel because it is just lintless drying towel from Autozone. We also use a Lambswool wash mitt and then a chenille to wash the wheels and underside of the rocker panels. Any suggestions on what to use to wash it and dry it??????? Tks guys-----91

It may also be the technique that's causing problems too. Are you blotting it dry with what you're using now, or dragging it? I believe that most users of similar chamois/synthetic chamois/waffleweave MF products prefer to blot dry because this way you don't risk dragging dirt over the surface.

If you go with the water blade, you will have to be just as (or even more) attentative and careful, but it does work well with some practice.

Use the MF big blue drying towel. Softer than silk. Finer than human hair and lint free and durable. The MF will trap and hold particles away from the paint without hurting the surface.

On wash mitts. You can use a MF wash mitt for the same reasons above.

or

use the mitt you have now. Every time you dip the wash mitt ( MF or other ) in the soap bucket and wash a panel of the car, you can then dip and wring it out in a bucket filled with just water. It will clean the mitt and seperate the dirt from the other bucket and mitt. Then dip mitt back in for another section of the car in the soapy bucket. Repeat. You will see how much grit and dirt is in the water bucket and how clean your other bucket is with soap.

I would not use the water blade because I have heard horror stories. If the car has a piece of dirt on it that you happen to miss and you drag that blade with that particle, be prepared for a huge scratch. It has happened to my friend.

If you take that big blue drying towel it is the size of the hood. You can just lay it out across the hood and in a matter of moments with little pressure it will absorb the water on the entire hood. You can lay it out and blot the sections.

Much more safe than the water blade and the towel you use now.
