Washing and drying roof/hood of tall trucks.

Hey guys,



I just picked up a new truck. I've been a car guy for several years now, so washing all the real estate on this is going to be a new experience for me. It's not gigantic by any means, just a basic 4x4 F-150, but I'm used to washing much smaller vehicles.



Short of standing up in the bed to wash and dry the roof, what are some other options? I have seen long handled BHB's and obviously a stand/stool would work as well. I can't even reach half way across the hood without having to lay across the fender :lol



Are there any nice, sturdy stools a vendor sells that are geared towards this?
 
It just seems like a hassle to get up in the wet/soapy bed then have to jump back down. My clumsy *** would fall :nervous:

I still had trouble using a platform though and had no choice except to maybe use a ladder. I felt safer in the truck bed myself. Plus I had to get into it to clean the back window anyway.

I didn't need all five of 'em until I got the Yukon XL, but I'd recommend that they be used in pairs so you don't have to carry one around the vehicle in the middle of every up-there process.



Pricey, yeah, but not suffering a life-altering fall is worth it to me. Things get slippery when wet (esp. with shampoos added in) and I'm all about not [messing] up my life over some detailing job. Long, wide, and stable, these things are great.



If you buy one of the all-aluminum ones, at least put some friction media on it.
