Washed the car outside today!

The Carrera got a bath outside today! First time in a month or more that I haven't been in the garage with the heat cranked up. It actually warmed up here in the Midwest. Got to nearly 60 degrees.

Couldn't pass up this early morning photo op. Gotta love those wide rear fenders of the Carrera S.

We've got to wait until tomorrow, only in the mid 40's today. Tomorrow in the mid 50's and low 60's for Monday. Wash both cars tomorrow and maybe even give my car its last coat of wax for 2002. :D

Brad:

I didn't know it was so warm....I was stuck inside all afternoon giving a lecture....when I left at 5PM it was 46 degrees again....missed it all.........maybe tomorrow!

Corey, don't waste your Sunday inside! Get out and enjoy! BTW, I need to see that 530i of yours! It's one of my dream cars, especially in silver! :bow

Brad, I love all the bimmers but your Carrera S has to be one of my favorites! 993s rule!:up

Corey, you better be out trying out that Klasse kit!:D

Brad..I envy you. Its only 40 degrees here today. I was able to go and wash my wife's 4Runner at a local car wash. Was only able to spray it down. No detailing is killing me....:(

It was around 60' both Saturday and Sunday here in Omaha. I washed and applied Meg's #3 Machine Glaze on Sat, and applied one layer of BF polish and one layer of BF sealant on Sunday.

Hard to believe that the shortest day of the year is less than a week away.

Yeah, but that just means that the days will get longer and longer from there....more detailing time!!:xyxthumbs

I'm the topic of conversation for my neighborhood this time of the year, as I'll keep washing the rides as long as water flows from the hose. It's amazing how warm you can stay with a bucket of hot soapy water when the air temp is in the 20's. I always make sure to drain the hose when I'm finished so it's ready for the next time even if it's below freezing.

Just finished washing the Rover as the sun was setting. The weather man says it's in the mid 40's, but the 20mph winds made it pretty darn chilly.

Bummer.... missed a golden opportunity here in central PA..... Had to go to Washington for a funeral at Arlington National. Didn't get back until sunset.... getting cold again.

Oh well..... worth it I guess to give a great sendoff to a Lt. Commander.

Welcome to Autopia, Edwin! I was doing the same thing today at the same time! (Got the Porsche all spruced up after the mid week rain.) Hard to believe it's December in St. Louis!:up

Brad: Nice Pic!!! I'm jealous, I have water spots and dirt all over the Bimmer!!

Edwin: Welcome! I did my car last Sunday at around 47 degrees, no coat, and I was pretty hot....

Maybe tomorrow........unless it snows.

Hey Corey,

The weather looks good for tomorrow, then turning cold for next week. Probably best to take advantage of the day tomorrow and get while the getting's good.

My Benz needs a serious cleaning as it sat at the airport all week.

Edwin:

I would say you are a brave man parking the Benz at the airport all week....I am getting a ride to the 'port on sunday....will be gone for four days....

I may just take advantage of tomorrow, although I am a coin=op user since i live in an apt.....there will probably be the whole town at my coin-op...which is 300 feet from my apartment.....I really need to AIO the whole car before it gets too cold.....

Hate to tell you all guys,

But here in Sydney Australia, we are expecting a 40c + day,

today was in the high 30c's

Too Hot tommorrow to do anything, thats why I did both cars today..

Just found a temp converter, 40c = 104f

Cheers

Chris.

Corey - in all honesty, I've never had a single problem since I park in the most desirable spots (farthest away, in a corner). I got in a habit of parking out in the sticks when I got my first new car in high school. It's become the only way to park...heck, I need the exercise anyway.

I tried using cabs or a car service for a while, but that ended up being a real pain. Never a problem getting a ride from the airport home, but you'd sometimes have to wait for ever for the ride to pick you up to head to the airport.
