Wash/Wax on an 07 CR-V

Started out the week with a few possible cars to do this weekend, due to the snow/salty road conditions, 4 of them dropped off. However, this guy decided to stick around because he recognized the need for a coat or two of protection for the rest of the winter.

Picked up the car at 11:05A.M. today.

Got in the garage, turned on my space heater. Heated the garage up 22 degrees from 27 to 49. Made a big difference.

Filled both my buckets up with 120+ degree water, put my ONR in the one bucket, grit guard in the other bucket.

11:50 I start the washing process.

Process:

120 degree water in 2 bucket system

ONR car wash

Optimum's Car Wax

S100

Dress fenderwells and all exterior plastics

$80

After doing the top and rear half of the car with ONR

After ONR, OCW, S100, check out the depth/gloss.

In the sun; she sparkles!

Awaiting pick-up... should be done here within 5 minutes or so. (4:45)

All-in-all, it was a successful day; took much less time than expected and the car turned out great. Paint was extremely glassy and smooth. I actually got two compliments from the neighbors at the garage I waxed it in.

Nice work though.

Sorry, you want it? It was just catching the loose water, I swear! :think2

Nice job! I'm curious, what type of space heater did you use?

I really don't know. I use my gf's garage to detail when it's cold, so I took full advantage of that today. I brought my own, they had one as well; I plugged them both in and let them go to work. When I first got in the garage, I could see my breath, however after 30 minutes of them being on, no more breath could be seen :heelclick

what are you using on the exterior plastic? looks like you got a little runoff on the right foglight.

ONR really does rule, what kind of mitt are you using?

Looks great!

It sure is nice having a heater in the garage. I have mine warming up right now so I can go wash my g/f's mom's car. She drove down from Buffalo Friday and it is nasty.

You have no idea how lucky I am to be able to use that garage. That's actually my girlfriends place, I'm only using it while it's cold out, as I'm allergic to the cold... Literally. I was over at Sear's last night buying my halogen light setup, and I almost picked up 2 space heaters; but then I realized, that in 3-4 weeks it'll be hitting 50-60 almost every day, hopefully. :grinno:
