Wash Mitt usage

Just wondering how many uses you all get out of a wash mitt? Not including ones that get messed up by falling in the dirt. Just normal washes. Thanks

I think it depends a lot on luck. I've had a Eurow sheepskin mitt literally disintegrate after a few washes, but my current one has been fluffy and together for a few months.

Your best bet is to make sure you rinse the mitt out thoroughly after use, and hang it up to dry in a well-aired area. I believe they can rot easily.

Chenile seems to last, as long as the mitt itself is made well. Sometimes the actual fibers may fall out, reducing its ability to hold dirt, but I have no idea on how to prevent that.

I have two Excel MF mitts, and those have held together very well for over a year now, being used at least once a week, usually more. Like Truzoom said, you need to keep them clean, and allow them to dry quickly and thoroughly.

I now have 6 mitts from 2 different online vendors, and they are all holding up well. I rinse all of them out within 30 minutes of using them. Right after I'm done drying the car, I rinse them out and hang them to dry.

S.M. Arnold sheepskin mitt - more than 30 washes and still going strong :xyxthumbs , shame that it's hard for me to get hold of now :dance

I got my sheepskin mitts from the Autopia store (I know, not the cheapest route :o). They're over a year old and they're still like new. And I gotta admit I don't treat them too well.

My chenille mitts don't last as long, they start to get "threadbare", loosing strands, after a while. Perhaps my "mitt balloon" technique with the foamgun is tough on them or maybe it's all the laundering :nixweiss

White95Max- Heh heh, well, my version of not treating them too well is: spot-clean with Dawn as needed, gentle cycle with Woolite, extra rinses, hang by the loop to dry- works great.

I consider them to be another "renewable resource". If they were going bad after a few months I'd rethink it, but so far they don't seem to *need* any pampering or special care. They don't get nasty or anything, so I don't see a need to take better care of 'em. Maybe the foamgun factors in somehow.

"Practical Perfectionist" ya know ;) I only sweat the small stuff as much as I really consider necessary. If I have to buy new mitts every year or so that's fine with me.

My original mitts- aquatouch are still going well after a couple years and the SONUS der wunder wash mitt is also great and makes washing quicker and safer

Am Currently testing DF Towel's mitt, pretty tough material
