Wash method on a car that was put away wet.

My car was put in the garage dripping wet yesterday. Following the rain, no time to wash. Today, I can't get to it until much later. It beads like mad so I'm sure I'm in for a water-spotted mess. This inevitably happens a lot in summer, which has started in ernest this weekend.

Any advice on methods while or before washing to rid the water spots?

I would just wash it with a regular two bucket wash and see if you have any water spotting. If you do you might have to use a light polish to remove them.

coat it...my truck sits outside 24/7 and since last December when I put the black label paint coating on there, not a single water spot has etched into the coating

I even left bird sh#t on the hood for over a week and no etching

if you don't wanna coat I'd say leaf blower (or something of the like) and/or a good QD as a drying aid for a quick wipedown

When I pull in to my garage in the rain I blow dry the vehicle real quick and then do a waterless wash.

2BM should take care of it. You at least have a sealant or some wax on there right? I wouldn't recommend a RW if you drove through the rain. You'll have a lot of crap that kicks up on the lower panels.

My typical car wash method took care of it, which surprised me because it was ghastly. Collinite is the protectant. I considered a soak in Spray & Wipe but took Pats advice and just washed it.
My apprehension comes from a few etched-in water spots on the hood that have been there since I bought it. It's a thin aluminum hood and I don't like applying too much pressure with a polisher so I guess those spots are there to stay.
