Wash between 3m SMR and AIO?

Is it necessary to rewash between SMR and AIO, or will AIO's cleaning properties take care of it?

Although it's a good idea to do a wash after SMR if you are going to apply a polymer sealant, it's not absolutely necessary for AIO. A cleaner/sealant such as AIO will take care of any residual oils or fillers and allow the polymer to bond to the paint properly. I would, however, go over the car with QD before the AIO, just in case you didn't buff off all the SMR.



If you were applying a polymer sealant without cleaning properties (such as Zaino), a Dawn wash after the SMR would be mandatory.
