WANTED! Lists of Great Combos!

To every "Senior" Member!

For us newbies, it would be nice to have 8-10 point lists of the best-performing combos, from clay to QD.

8-10 combos are quite a lot, bit it would be great for us to try them all, and with the growing experience, we could make our own "compilations", too. It is nice to see the different personal preferences and nuances!

Please list the impossible combos too, which are absolutely not compatible with each other.

My first detail work was a black Lexus RX, so Iwas thrown in the deep water right away. Here are the pics. (I'm on the right.) I was using 3M clay, AutoGlym PR/SRP with UGP, then 3 coats of Sonax Xtreme 1 Carnauba. QD-d with Sonax HighSpeedWax.

So, post a lot!

Bence! Welcome to Detail City. That reflection is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!

You should post a picture of the whole car!

WOW, reflection off your bonnet looks better than real life.

Did you use a PC or all done by hand? I have autoglymm (both)
but definitely must be the Sonax wax and QD that did the amazing job. Impressive!

I did it with a DA first, and the Sonax went by hand. Waited 12 and 24 hours between the 3 coats. Hehe... there are 2 (!) Lexus showrooms in the country. Hungary is a strange car market. The brand perception is funny because a lot of people thought of german cars as the ultimate quality products, but this is slipping now - thanks to horrible VW (incl. all brands), Mercedes-Benz and Opel products. I don't know the quality of the Mexican-made VWs, but the Germans are $#1t! You have to change half of the cars (tranny, suspensions, bearings, etc.), often before you reach the 50 000 km mark. That's not funny. Recognizing it, people switch to the far more reliable Japanese cars... Surprise!

You are lucky not to have such crap over there like the MB A-Class, the smart, or the Audi A2. Not to mention the prices. Compare! The avg income is around 350US$, but these mainly soot-farting diesels (megatrendy, yeeehaaaw!) cost around 5-8 million (28 000-38 000 US$), and a Lexus LS430 hits 120 grand. Yep, and fuel is 4.3-5.4 US$ a gallon... Wanna live here??? I just sitting quietly, and buffing hard, driving an efficient four-banger rice rocket. Civics rule!

Welcome Bence ! great job...I think the depth of combos you wanna see listed are a lil too subjective :)

This thread would explode - You might do better with prep/sealant/wax combo requests. If you do a search on the forums you'll find a lot (including me) who has slapped on a host of combos and posted results :)
