wanna step up to rotary tips???

hey guys i wanna step up to a rotary! the pc is taking to long for my jobs and i wanna be able to finish better. no micro marring! any tips? how do i use the rotary compared to the pc? any info would be great!!!!

Honestly, you'll just have to get out there and play with it.

But just make sure you work the polishes in slowly and stay away from sharp angles and edges where the pad can burn the paint.

With the rotary it's all about practice makes perfect. Took me about a year to learn how to perfect it and the polish and pad combo's you use will make a huge difference.

You may not have to worry about micro marring now, but you will have to learn how to finish down with no holograms as well as not burning paint so they both have there pro's and con's.

Try a search on rotary use, their are some really good threads. That's what I did. I read everything I could then practiced a lot. I found it a lot more natural to use than the PC. With in a relatively short period of time I felt very comfortable and confident. Good luck.

yes it is an awsome pdf of info. go to junk yard or auto body shop ask for a few old hoods practice on them and learn your own technique good luck

I got a scrap hood and wetsanded half of it to practice both wetsanding and rotary work...I should have threw rocks at it to practice chip repair, but I didnt...next time!

the time savings isnt quite 50%, more like 25%, but the results are 75% better

I agree with what everyone above said. I read everything I could and was still scared of the rotary. I bought one and it sat in the box for about three months because I was afraid of it.

I FINALLY tried it out and found it to be much nicer to work with than a PC. My hands don't feel like they're going to go numb and it just seemed very natural to work with.

I respect it and I think that's the key... other than that watch some vids, read that guide and go to it :)
