Why exactly should you wait 12 to 24 hrs before applying 2nd coats of lets say wax's and sealents? What will happen if you don't wait after applying wax before applying a sealent?

I let some one answer this one here. I normally cant wait for 12 or 24hrs in btwn layer.

waiting between waxing is zero, waiting between sealant is normally 24 hours. The sealant needs to cure, and if you apply to soon you really are not giving it a second coat. You also do not want to put a sealer over a carnauba do to the chemical make up it will not adhere. On the other hand you can put a wax over a sealant after waitinbg 24 hours . hope this helps

On sealants, the main reason I wait is because that's what is recommended by the maker of the product. It takes 12-24 hours to the polymers to "do whatever it is that they do." At least that's what the sealant makers say. Seeing as how I don't know that much about the makeup of the sealants, I'll go on their word. :)

As far as waxes go, I have read that you don't have to wait at all before applying a second coat, as carnauba wax has no "cure" time. Again, I'm not a chemist and I don't know for sure.
