Waffleweave Problems

Got a waffleweave microfibre drying towel from EShine,I believe it's Poorboys.I am having a helluva time getting this thing to work the way I have read on this forum as it should.First time using it,it just dragged the water around leaving little trails.I did wash and dry it before it's first use.For the next few times after that I got the same result, not too pleased with my $20 investment. Now I'm getting a lot of lint from it.BTW I'm drying first with a CWB then the waffleweave.I tried the wafflweave on it's own,NO WAY.I get better results with my CWB then a good soft bath towel. Is there something I'm doing wrong with the MF drying towel?

sounds like the ww has some fabric softener on it from when you washed it. I had that problem too. Wash again with a two rinse cycle and distilled vinager on the final rinse. Spin dry and let hang. Should cure the problem for you.

hmmm, strange. So you say first you run the cali water blade on the panel then use this WW and still get water streaks?

I've had good success with Pak Shak and Fiber-Works waffle weave towels.

What was your washing procedure for the towel?

I have started washing my WW by hand using Woolite and it seems to work very well. This also works with my other microfibers. It takes a bit more effort but I think it is worth it. Your problems REALLY sound like they are tied to your washing procedure.

My $1.00cdn 80/20 16' x 22" WW at my Dollarama does wonders, I bought out the store's supply all 25 of them !

I have noticed some shedding of fibres from my WW MF on glass, but other than that I am amazed in the performance. I do a very quick pass with an Absorber and get the residue with WW MF. works great and I haven't washed it yet, ie. used it straight out of the box, so to speak.

rockyram,

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but some WW just suck. I too have a couple that leave those frickin' water trails no matter what I have done (the Der Wonder towels that also cost $20+). These two towels are now regulated to doing the door jams, trunk jams, and engine areas. Take heart there towels out there that perform much better. I have had great results with the purple towels sold by Detailers Paradise, and towels sold by JT international. Pak Shak also get glowing reviews but I only have some of their regular MF towels. Unfortunately I would suggest trying some different towels and I think you will find the WW MF great performers.
