I think this question may be a bit premature since Blackfire has only been on the market for about a week, but I'm debating on weither or not I should stick with my Klasse twins and try Souveran as a topper or switch to Black fire. Any (early) insights as to whom gives the best shine?
 
I think that Blackfire actually achieves the look of polymer/wax combo all by itself! I have used Klasse/Souveran and Klasse/Blitz which is an excellent look. If you have a bunch of layers of Klasse SG on there already go ahead and throw on a top of Souveran. Check it out for yourself. Then in 5 -6 months, when you are ready to strip and re-apply, try Blackfire.

I'm not sure, but Blackfire is supposed to have the Concours carnauba appearance, but with the durability of a synthetic.
 
I have noticed whenever a steamer is mentioned in a thread there are a lot of questions. I decided to do a basic how-to in the use of one. This is just related to carpet and upholstery, only a few of it's many talents! This isn't a "review" as I have already stated in many threads how much I love my steamer. I use it most of the time, leaving my extractor for real heavy duty cleanups such as spills, vomit etc. The car I was working on was a 90's toyota that had seen better days. They just wanted it freshened up. The carpets and seats were really bad, had this been a high dollar job I would have extracted after the steam for a final cleanup. Anyway, it will give you a good idea of what the machine can do under harsh conditions. (the white dots are snow...yes in May!)

I USE THIS SMALL BRUSH ATTACHMENT FOR PRE-TREATING.

SPRAY WITH APC, STEAM ON MEDIUM AND SCRUB. THIS IS AMAZING AND I DO THIS BEFORE I EXTRACT AS WELL

Thanks for the post! Been considering this machine for some time now and never heard any negatives! The price is the only thing holding me back. Been negotiating with the CFO(wife)and suggesting how much it would ease her household cleanup. Negotiations continue.
 
I can get my wife to write a note for you guys. She loves it!

I bring this home and clean the couches, awesome on anything in the bathroom, spot cleans carpets.....you can also tell her she can use it to steam her clothes instead of ironing!!
 
thanks rich for that write up. can't wait to try it with my vx3000 cuz i wasn't sure just how to attack my interiors. it does a helluva job around the house which is where i've been using it so far... you give me inspiration

I have the same model. I really like it a lot.

At first my wife said, I'll never use it so don't try to use that as an excuse for you getting it. :w00t:

We have tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms, she uses it for those floors and the showers/tubs every other time she cleans them. Cleans those tiles floors without chemicals and just a little APC 1:10 water for the fiberglass tub. The tub has never been cleaner. Also the floors are dry in a few mins.

I have used it on a few nasty and quickly for lightly soiled interiors.

Rich, Do you still clean yours by adding some vinegar, letting it sit overnight, and then drain/rinse the next day?

Which attachment would you use to steam the wrinkles out of some large drapes/curtains?

my wife is chemically allergic so getting the steamer was a no brainer.... i've cleaned the shower doors of all the soap scum, the bathroom and kitchen sinks the mirrors, even steamed our toothbrushes it kills germs everywhere right. i like it immensely.
 
VX5000 rocks, don't forget you can use it on the exterior such as around gaps, badges, etc. A few more ideas you can use it on: wheel dust brake removal, paint film/tint removal, deodorizing vents. You must be extremely careful around vinyl/leather! Anything above setting 1 will burn the surface (don't ask me how I know).

If anyone is interested in finding a boars head brush, detail king sells one for their steamer that will fit, costs $15 I think.

I'm not sure that a note would do it! How about some pics in flash card form? One picture is worth a thousand words as they say!

yeah, vinegar or CLR for cleaning.....I just don't run anything through the hoses and wands. As for drapes, I have never done them but would probably try the large head I use for upholstery with a clean cloth on it and just use it very gently on high setting.

Did the manual/dvd say you could use CLR? I know vinegar was definitely mentioned.
