VW carpets

The lock loop carpet seems to be the hardest to clean. You vaccum for days with no gratitude. I have tried foaming glass cleaner, brushing first, everything. Im so frustrated I want to tear it out, and say there was never carpet there. Please HELP !

I would love to beat the hell out of it trust me, or better yet the jerk that designed it, but its the entire car carpet. The same cheap carpet they use in the cargo, and trunks of all other less than desirable makes. Its when you run the vaccum over it it just does more harm than good. The dirt seems to get trapt even deeper. Im going crazy !

If it makes you feel any better, Mitsubishi's are worse... But the trunk/rear cargo area has normal carpet..Figure that out!

IME you have to beat it up a bit to get the stuck dirt out. Use a stiff bristle brush and quick side-to-side motion with your vac. HTH

Ive ben thinking, (dangerous I know), some Ford Focus carpets are like this and I spent many an hour trying to get them clean, especially after the customer has been to the beach. With removable mats, yes! knock from the back while vacuuming. For the carpets Ive been looking for some kind of "static" device which might try and lift the fine particles out, the same way a nice feather duster works when you wipe over the car just to remove surface dust, say before adding a detailing spray. Dont know, does it sound crazy!

Well its good to know that this is obviosly a carpet problem, and not a detailer problem. Get this, the dealer recomended redying the carpet. With all the dirt still there ? Another dealer refered me to JC whitney. They sell carpet ! this is a 2004 ????. I should rearrange my pricing list. ( carpet vaccum by estimate only ).

Mazda3s have the same crap. Haven't found an easy way to vacuum it yet.

I know! I hate Mazda3's.. The last interior I did it took me 1 1/2hours to vacuum/blowout/vacuum/blowout/vacuum. And I'm doing another one this coming Tuesday!

It is definitely a carpet problem! Be sure to educate your customer up front about the challenges you'll face when trying to clean & vac carpeting of this type. Try very hard to not surprise your customer in a negative way.

Scrub hard with this brush

And simultaneously shoot 80 psi of compressed air at the area you are scrubbing.

Vacuum. Repeat.

If the carpet is black (common on VWs), use SEM Sure Coat Aerosol carpet dye in the areas you can't get perfect.
