VW and DACP/ColorX

I have a Passat to do Friday that has a few scratches that are felt with a fingernail and I told him I could mask them a bit but not get them out. The rest is mild swirls from auto car wash brush washing so I think I will try DACP with a white pad ( Yellow pad where necessary ) as I don't want to *waste* my Menzerna on it.

I think the DACP will lift the swirls and the white pad will keep the DACP from hazing. This is a daily driver with a 24/7 bra. I think I will try ColorX on it after the DACP to see if I can pull the color back up some.

He usually gets it done at the local detailers ( wholesale crap work ) but he saw the Jetta I did, he lives 4 doors down.

Car is a purple/grey color.

What you guys think of the product selection.

1) Wash

2) Clay

3) DACP

4) ColorX ( test bed )

If it's that much of a beater, you may want to remove the oxidation with the ColorX to see what you're working with before the DACP. But, realistically, I don't think it would matter one way or another, but by putting ColorX first, you've got another step since you can't just poop out after the DACP.

Don't cheap on him and hold back the polish you think will work best. Breaks the "treat every car like it was yours" rule.

I think your plan is a sound one...Ive had good luck with both products, and by your description, it sounds like a good one....DACP will break down some of the lighter wash induced scratches, ColorX should bring some additional life to the color....And give it a nice smooth feel...Its a pretty damn good product, I rank it up their with AIO.........
