VM before NXT?

Has anyone tried Vanilla Moose glaze under NXT? I really like VM and wonder if NXT will remove it or will I actually gain by using the VM first? BTW, tried QEW tonight on my wifes dark green CRV and it worked great! Very pleased with it.

I've used VM prior to NXT on numerous occasions. Go through my gallery (link in sig) and you will find several VM/NXT pics.

Thanks Scottwax. I know I could have just tried it, but I'm not always sure if I imagine results when I try some of this stuff or if it really helps! I'll give it a try tomorrow.

2 Boxers, thanks for the reply. I seem to have settled on this combo, looks unbelievable on my son's black Prelude. Do you allow any cure time at all between VM and NXT. I'm going directly form VM to NXT with no wait time in between, but wonder if the NXT is removing the VM?

dlw are you using VM as added protection? We all know that VM does has some protective properties (use it on my rims - cleans and protects in 1-step) but is it not VM's main function to cleanse paint? VM's removal, if so by NXT, would be secondary but it's appearance enhancing feature (cleansing) still remaining. :nixweiss

I realize that VM doesn't provide much protection and that is not the reason for it's use in my case as I VM and NXT all 5 of my cars every week (weather permitting). I don't think VM's main function is to cleanse paint. As a glaze, I am using VM because it enhances the shine and also helps fill and hide very minor swirls and imperfections, which, on a non-metallic black Prelude daily driver are a fact of life. It gets dusty and people seem unable to resist a quick hand swipe on the shiney black car, which leaves scratches. I know how to remove the scratches and swirls and have all the tools to do so, but choose not to do so on a weekly basis. My concern is that NXT, with it's minor cleaning properties, might be removing some or all of VM's filling properties. I've been using NXT for a couple of weeks and still debating wether to stay with it or go back to VM and Souveran. Truthfully, the VM/Souveran combo is much faster and easier with absolutely no streaking, which can be a minor problem with NXT if you don't get your application extremely thin. The streaking concerns me a bit when the really hot season gets here as I do my work out on the driveway with little or no shade. I do give the shine edge to the VM/NXT combo, but the edge is not that great. This is really somewhat of a curiousity question only, as I am really pleased with the results of the process, but if I wasn't prone to wonder about these things, I'd probably have another hobby to occupy my time!

I hear you bro!! I have 3 black vehicles, fortunately only one is a daily driver. Even the black garage queen and classic in storage require some maintenence.

I have always placed VM in my arsenal as equivalents to SEPC and especially AIO and WG paint cleanser. Very mild polishing action, minimal filling, which I like, and minor protective properties. I guess one could call them glazes also without all the oils. :nixweiss
