Vinyl Cleaner

I have installed red vinyl inserts in my doors and they look to me getting a bit dirty now. Can I have opinions on a good and safe vinyl cleaner. I''m thinking about Vinylex or Megs #40. Also what would be a good protectant, maybe 303?

I also want to know if anyone has used Black Magic Tire wet express. Its a nifty tube of gel with a faom attached to it like shoe polish. I'm the type of guy who love the wet and very shiny look. Will this product give me that? If not what will?

Woolite laudry detergent diluted in warm water (10:1 ratio) is safe to clean vinyle interior. I have some 303 protectant that should arive tomorrow or Sat. from the review at autopia it's a great protectant.

I haven't used that, but from what I hear if you want the greased up shiny look, get some of the new Meg's Insane Tire Shine.

For cleaning I'd recommend a diluted solution of simple green or your favorite degreaser. I imagine a good leather cleaner would work fine too. In terms of protection I've become a big fan of Poorboys' Natural Look dressing. Finally, in-between details a little shot of QD spray w/ a MF towel will keep it looking good, and will help the interior smell nice too.

Take care,
Jerry

Thanks everyone for the responses. I like the tires shiny but I hate shine in the interior. Any comments on Megs #40?

The megs insane shine is the most expensive tire dressing in the store and it has the least amount in it as well. I was hoping to find something else. I've read that Eagle One Wet Tire its suppose to give a very glossy wet look.

Although this Black Magic express is the cheapest dressing i've seen, plus its a gel so if someone has used it and knows how the outcome is I want to try that first otherwise I will try Eagle One Wet Tire. Any opinions will be very helpful.

SNike05,

#40 is a good all in one vinyl cleaner/protectant. However, for much better cleaning, Meguiar's #39 - Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner is much better. Then, you can apply a product like #40 or any of a number of good protectants.

I reccomend for cleaning APC diluted to whatever is safe. I have High Temp APC diluted 1:20 for interior. For interior dressing I love Adams VRT. It look awesome on exterior trim, int trim, tires, rubber etc. Its a lotiony consitency plus it has spf 65. My second favorite is poorboys NL.

I use Black Magic's tire wet (I think that's what it's called) and it leaves a very high shine on my tires.

For a matte finish none can beat VRT, a very small amount will spread forever and will look great in the process, not greasy either.

For a more shiny finish I would go with 1Z plastik-reinger. It cleans pretty deeply and leaves behind a nice med. shiny look that doesn't attract dust.

For a freakishly shiny finish, go to your local chrome shop and have the pieces chromed :lmfao .

Is this the foam?

for Rubber? But yes I am looking for a freakishly shiny finish I like that on the tire but only the tire. So for crazy shine this is what people are saying

1. Megs NXT gen Insane Shine (aerosol spray, too much mess)
2. Eagle One Wet Tire Shine (this comes in gel and spray)
3. Black Magic Tire Wet (this comes in foam and spray)

For the vinyl I will try light detergent in water if I can't find #39 at a store and see how it works out then protect with 303.

I was, of course, joking. You can actually do spray chrome on anything now, they chromed a foam football on Ride W/ Funkmaster Flex for Donovan McNabb on one of the episodes.

For really shiny tires the turtle wax tire shine is the brightest I've seen. It doesn't last very long though, and it discolors the tires.

I would say meguiar's products or why not try some S&W? The S&W might not be strong enough though, but I've had good results.

I bought the Eagle One Wet Tire Shine (they renamed and redesigned the bottle) and I bought some Black Magic Tire Express.

Thats the dressing i'm using right now. Other then the amazing smell I don't like the product and your right it doesn't last at all. I will try the turtle wax and the other two I bought on the same tire and see the difference. I'll post pics if people are interested.
