Vintage Datsun 1968 2000 Roadster

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
I detailed this 1968 Datsun 2000 this week, and really enjoyed the time I spent with this interesting roadster. Only 15000 of these car were produced from 1967 through 1970, and it is nice to detail something unique. Detailing cars like these helps to keep me motivated, as detailing the same types cars over and over again can be quite mundane.

The detail took approximately 10 hours, and had to use my lightweight Metabo buffer with a 5 inch Lake Country pads because of the various complex angles in the body. I lost my Menzerna SIP PO 83 virginity on this car, as I picked up a quart after Autopian David703 raved about the product when I saw him about 2 weeks ago. I finished up with Menzerna Super Finish PO 106 FA. I hand waxed with Collinite’s Marque d’ Elegance.

I hope you enjoy the pics.

Brings back old memories when my cousin had the same one before he got shipped out to Nam, he never came back and the family sold the car, Thank you for showing this one Clean Dean......:2thumbs:

That really brings back old memories. I remember seeing them but its not that good looking.

Thanks for the share:2thumbs:

Cool car, solid work as always.

I gotta ask, how did you manage to buff that trunk?

Thanks. I had to remove the rack from the trunk. Pretty simple to do, but had to take my time to avoid scratching the trunk during the removal. Just four 11mm bolts were holding that rack on.
