Hey guys, I was reading a post and people mentioned that vinegar if sprayed onto your paint in places were you have water spot damage, will remove water spots....? If so should I do a mixture of vinegar and water.........if so what % vinegar/water? I know I could use a rotary to remove them or wet sand but I dont want to go that way if I dont have to. Any other suggestions? I have used my PC set on speed 6 with MIP and the orange cutting pad and it barely affects them. I can run my finger nail across the few spots and cannot feel them at all. Help pleasel, my paint if perfect excpet for the few spots........stupid previous owner must have let it get wet

When i owned my boat i kept a spray bottle on board that i used ti wipe down the boat each time i pulled the boat out of the water. It was a 50/50 Mix of White Vinegar and Distilled Water. And i have also used this on my vehicles with good results. However if the water stains have actually etched the clear then this isn't going to work.

Right, the vinegar/water mix will only remove the minerals and such left by the water but if it has etched, it won't work and you'll either have to live with it or risk polishing a lot of clear off.

I've used vinegar straight on stainless steel and it disolved them fairly quickly. (I soak a cloth and hold it on the spots for a min. or 2 then wipe it off.)
From my understaning/reading, vinegar isn't too strong, so it could be used full strength on the paint. (You should then wash/rinse afterwards, obviously, as the car will gain an aroma from the vingar that most people wouldn't want their car to smell like.
