Viking wool mitt

Right now I'm using the Viking 100% cotton chenille wash mitts. These things shed like crazy and don't last very long. I'm looking into purchasing some new wash mitts and was wondering if anyone has tried out the wool mitt that Viking offers. I'm looking for buying it locally and I can get most of the Viking products locally. Anyone have any experience with it?

Also, how safe are the wool mitts compared to the cotton chenille mitts? Is there more of a chance of scratching the paint with the wool mitt, less of a chance, or is it pretty much the same as the cotton chenille mitts (following the proper method to wash the car of course)?

The Wal-Mart $5 wool mitts are nice. Seem no different to the $8 ones I buy at Autozone. I used to synthetic blend, then cotton chenille, but the cotton was getting stuck along the trim of my doors which was really annoying me.

I really like wool mitts. They're so soft when wet, and have a nice deep pile.

Beau those are exactly the ones I have. When I select them it's like picking fruit :D, take only the softest after inspecting every single one in the aisle :up

I have heard so many people say pick the best Wool Mitt out of the pile. My girl and I were in Target the other day and i told her I was going to grab a mitt, she made that face when I started picking through the dozen or so they had on display. The variation in softeness is absolutely amazing, some were downright abraisive, some were soft and some were REALLy soft. I think it took her by surpise when she felt for herself. I guess thats what you get when you deal with a natural product. It really is like picking fruit. Later I watched as she picked through the items she was buying, as if there would be a difference between the man made school supplies:cool:

LMAO. I thought I was the only weird one who picks through mitts in the car aisle. It's funny when people start staring.

This is very good advice but to get the most out of your efforts make sure you pick up one of the buckets on the shelf next to them and put in a quality car shampoo from the shelf below. Head to the men's room and put a little water in the bucket and then individually wet and check each mitt for softness. This way you'll know you've got the best one. I wouldn't buy one any other way. :D

Picking fruit! How funny and true :D

I like Viking, Baja Sol, Costco 4 pack and my all time favorite is the discontinued CMA black sheepskin mitt.

Yep, like picking fruit :D Spilchy, at one point AA made a black sheepskin mitt, must be discontinued as well, not on their site, I did see some at local small auto parts store but they were quite rough :(
