nice video. hows business Robert? I'm thinking of moving back in the next couple of years. Was actually partially raised in Santa Barbara. Went to middle school and part of high school there. La Cumbre & SBHS. Was back for vacation last summer to check santa barbara out again and it was nice.
Anyways looks like you do some pretty nice work. Hope business has been good.
slick man. yeah would be nice to swing by and check your operation out. It's always nice to network and stuff like that and to kind of know people if you know what i mean.
hopefully this year i can make a trip back to santa barbara. i know there is one other guy that does corrective type work in santa barbara and he use to post on here too.
Aficionauto or something like that. Anyways you guys hiring?
Andrew Evans is Aficinato and still doing well. I've met him and he's a very nice younger "kid" who has worked himself into a talented detailer. I actually refer customers to him when I don't have time. There are only 2 that I'll do that for.
That was my first time ever sanding so it's my only video. I have to say that I really like the 4" pads on a makita. A buddy of mine in Orange County is pretty much using 4" pads on all polishers.
BTW: If you ever need LC pads, I group buy and pay about $5.50 per 6" pad- foam vs. about $10 online.
I'm going to work on an Expedition in about 3 weeks that is pretty bad- building new carport with power, water, and air and told customer to hold a bit. Maybe I'll get some more videos at that time. Being an Optimum user and knowing David G's family very well, I have to admit I like the 105 and 205 combo a LOT! Dust aside, it performed very well. I'm going to give UNO another shot as well.
Outstanding video man. You make it look so smooth. Normally when I am buffing with a rotary and I dancing all over the paint! I plan on doing my lexus this weekend. You just motivated me!
The way I used to polish, I could have entered in Dancing with the Stars! I remember my first time and it was bumping and jumping all over. I never thought I'd get it down. I have known Renny for years and knew that if I went there and trained that I would get it down. I now have to keep working the Optimum vs. Uno vs. 105- I know that Megs. is coming out with something in the near future, but patents pending I can't say much. Also, there is something coming from one of the others mentioned that will perform like 105 with NO dust!
Makes me wonder within a few years will clay be used? There might be one spray that magically corrects paint someday and then we'll all be out of work.

I hope that by calling me a "kid," you aren't considering yourself an "old geezer." I know time flies.. My wife and I recently purchased a home here in Santa Barbara and finally feel as though our hard work has been realized.. being in my thirties feels good!
Business has been good to me - Aficionauto Detail is coming up on 7 years established and I am very fortunate to have some very talented and intelligent staff helping out. I appreciate the occasional referral that gets passed my way but at this time, my doors are closed to new clients. Unless, of course, they own a supercar or an antique or a collection of...

I learned a lot on Autopia over the years and have a great appreciation for the information shared here. This site (and few others) are extremely valuable sources. I wish I could find time to respond and participate more frequently.
